Steve Jones and Peter Eidenberg Obtain a Defense Verdict in a $10 Million Medical Malpractice Trial
After two weeks of evidence, a Jackson County jury delivered a unanimous defense verdict for Steve Jones and Peter Eidenberg’s client, an orthopedic spine surgeon. The plaintiff alleged the defendant-physician caused a spinal cord contusion while placing a thoracic spinal cord stimulator, leaving the plaintiff with an incomplete spinal cord injury at the T10 level. The plaintiff and his wife asked for over $10 million in economic and non-economic damages. Despite the plaintiff’s significant and life-altering injuries, the jury concluded the defendant-physician did not breach the standard of care in his treatment.
