Henderson v. Bay Area Health District

Coos County, State of Oregon. Plaintiff alleged defendant failed to timely diagnose recurrent kidney cancer, resulting in a burst spinal fracture. Plaintiff sought $1.4 million in damages. Peter Eidenberg and Hillary Taylor tried the case before a jury, who returned a defense verdict.

Doman

Clackamas County, State of Oregon. Plaintiff alleged a spinal disk herniation was the result of chiropractic manipulation, resulting in damages in excess of $4 million. Scott O'Donnell tried the case before a jury. After an 8 day trial, the jury returned a unanimous defense verdict.

Morton v. Peacehealth, et al

Lane County, State of Oregon. Plaintiff alleged defendants inappropriately prescribed a medication, resulting in a neurologic injury. She sought nearly $18 million in damages. Steve Jones tried the case before a jury, who returned a defense verdict.

Chrowl v. Eugene Emergency Physicians, et al

Lane County, State of Oregon. Plaintiff alleged negligence related to the diagnosis and treatment of her cerebral venous thrombosis and stroke. She sought over $40 million in damages. Steve Jones tried the case before a jury, who returned a defense verdict.

Stout

Lane County, State of Oregon. Plaintiff, as personal representative, alleged that defendants failed to perform adequate psychiatric evaluations, resulting in the death of plaintiff’s son and seeking over $2 million in damages. Steve Jones tried the case before a jury, who returned a defense verdict.

Eichman v. Asante, et al

Jackson County, State of Oregon. Plaintiff alleged that the hospital, through its nursing staff, was negligent during a shoulder dystocia delivery, causing a brachial plexus injury. Plaintiff sought $5,750,000 in damages. Bob Keating and Karen Wiggins tried the case. After a three week trial, the jury returned a verdict in favor of the hospital.

Lopez

Washington County, State of Oregon. Plaintiff alleged that negligence by a dentist, dental hygienist, and their dental clinic caused him permanent nerve damage. Plaintiff sought $925,000 in damages. Peter Tuenge tried this case before a jury, who returned a verdict for the defense.

Mansell

Lane County Court, State of Oregon.  This was a medical negligence claim related to care provided by nursing staff to a patient after bilateral knee replacement surgery.  Scott O'Donnell defended the nurses and hospital.  The specific claims involved alleged mismanagement of a peripheral IV site that led to complex regional pain syndrome in plaintiff's hand, resulting in permanent injuries and severe pain.  Plaintiff alleged $4.25 million dollars in damages.  After a six day trial, the Lane County jury returned a unanimous defense verdict in two hours. 

Rohweder  

Washington County Court, State of Oregon.  Scott O’Donnell defended the assisted living facility in this professional malpractice claim.  Plaintiff, the Personal Representative for the deceased resident, sought $500,000 in damages based on alleged injuries, including a hip fracture, sustained in a fall at the facility.  After a week-long trial, the jury returned a defense verdict.

Weiland

Multnomah County Court, State of Oregon. Plaintiff alleged she suffered bilateral lingual nerve injuries, including a severed nerve on the left and an injured nerve on the right. Plaintiff sought over $1.5 million in damages for resultant paresthesia, pain, and numbness. Steve Jones tried the case before a jury, who returned a defense verdict within 1 ½ hours.
