Hillary is a native of the Seattle area. In 2004 she earned her BA in political science from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. She decided to stay in Oregon and attended Willamette University College of Law. During law school, Hillary was the Managing Editor of the Willamette Law Review. Graduating from law school in 2008, Hillary clerked for the Honorable Timothy J. Sercombe of the Oregon Court of Appeals before starting in private practice. Before joining Keating Jones Hughes in 2012, she worked at another Portland medical malpractice defense firm.

Hillary's practice focuses on defending physicians and hospitals in medical malpractice litigation, health law and regulatory compliance (including HIPAA privacy and security), defense of practitioners before state licensing boards, legal malpractice defense, and appeals.
